TCL Communication – Innovation zum Anfassen

TCL Communication develops, produces and markets a growing portfolio of mobile devices and services worldwide - including smartphones, tablets and smartwatches from various brands such as TCL and Alcatel. In order to increase awareness of current product and company developments among the relevant target groups, PIO relies on good relationships with tech, business and consumer media.

Task

With the slogan 'Inspiring Greatness', TCL Communication pursues the mission of making the latest technical innovations accessible to everyone. Since 2019, we manage and plan media relations for TCL Communication in Germany. The focus of our work is the appropriate transfer of the corporate strategy and its measures to the German market.

Implementation

Our central task is to cultivate relationships and provide information to relevant specialized and consumer media. We bring hands-on innovation into focus: We invite journalists to pre-briefings and product tests and give them the opportunity to directly experience TCL's latest technologies and products. 

As press office, we are the first point of contact for German journalists, we localize English content, distribute it and answer media inquiries. We provide testing devices so that tech media can convince themselves of the products‘ quality and inform consumers in comprehensive test reports. We also organize interviews with TCL's top managers around industry-relevant trade fairs, create journalist briefings and accompany the discussions. Finally, we ensure evaluation with the help of a central reporting platform.

Result

Whether children's watches or smartphones, whether 'Lea' or 'Computer Bild' - TCL's products regularly make it into various specialized and consumer media thanks to our PR work. At the leading international trade fairs IFA in Berlin and MWC in Barcelona, we provide coverage before, during and after the event. In 2023, we achieved more than 150 clippings for TCL worth over 4 million euros.
